Program

DAY 1

Arrive in Rome at Fiumicino Airport, transfer by bus to hotel in Abruzzo. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2

Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to Vasto, the ancient "Histonium", to discover many interesting monuments and buildings as Piazza Rossetti, Palazzo D’Avalos, the Fortress built in 1200, Cathedral and Church of St. Maria Maggiore. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon departure for Casalbordino, where according to tradition, Our Lady appeared to a farmer in Pollutri. Is possible to visit a modern wine factory and watching processing for wine production. Wine tasting of Montepulciano and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3

After breakfast, travel to the Sangro Valley to visit Villa Santa Maria, typical centre of Sangro Valley and homeland of chef. Your day continues heading towards to Pizzoferrato famous for truffle. It’s possible to watch dogs in searching truffles. Finally you will enjoy lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon departure for the Natural Reserve of Borrello “Cascate del Rio Verde” and have a walk to the waterfull. Visiting of typical laboratory of truffle will follow. Return to your hotel on the way brief visit to a “Trabbocche”, (a big ancient fishing tool) on the coast. Enjoy dinner in hotel with typical abruzzese meal. Overnight.

DAY 4

After breakfast, you’ll meet the guide for a full day excursion in the Majella National Park. Stop in Castel Frentano in a confectionery for tasting the typical cake “bocconotto”. Then the guide leads you to Guardiagrele, at the Majella foot. Visit of the historical town. Guardiagrele smithers are famous all over the world for their gates, bed heads and balconies. Visit to a smither’s laboratory, to watch the creative procedure for their artistic articles. Tasting of typical sweet “sise delle monache”. Lunch at the restaurant with typical abruzzese meal. In the afternoon moving to a famous wine factory and watch processing for wine production. Short course of wine tasting. Dinner in restaurant with typical abruzzese meal. Return to your hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 5

Breakfast at hotel. Today’s route will take you to Fara S. Martino for a trip to the Gole di St. Martino (Gorges) and to the source “Del Verde”. Your guide will take you for a visit to one of the most famous pasta factory’s De Cecco or Delverde. Typical lunch at a restaurant and taste of pasta. In the afternoon transfer to Fossacesia to visit the Benedictine Abbey of St. Giovanni in Venere. Later stop at a olive mill specialized for flavoured oils like orange, lemon, mediterrian, spices or truffle flavoured oils. In the evening moving to a Country house for dinner. Meeting with a “housewife” to watch processing for home – made bread and pizza. Return to your hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 6

After breakfast, you’ll meet the guide for a full day excursion in the Abruzzo National Park. Arrival to Pescasseroli, administrative centre of the Park and visit ts Museum. Visit to the historical centre and stop in a artigianal lab for tasting strawberry liqueur. You’ll arrive in your hotel. Lunch. In the afternoon, the guide leads you to Civitella Alfedena. You can visit the old town, the Museo del Lupo (Wolf Museum) and the wildlife area of lynx and wolf. Meeting with a farmer to watch the processing for cheese production. Tasting of sheep’s milk cheese. Dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at hotel. Load luggage on coach for departure. to Rome Airport. End of our services.
